Development Update with New Races Economy Updates and Dynamic Lawless POIs

On Friday, June 27, 2025, we broadcast our Ashes of Creation May Development Update live on Twitch with Creative Director Steven Sharif and Director of Communications Margaret Krohn.

The livestream kicked off with a look ahead at the road to Alpha Two Phase III. The team outlined important changes to the testing experience, including expanded access to the Private Test Realm (PTR). The team then offered a closer look at The Anvils, Alpha Two’s second starting area and the ancestral homeland of the Dünzenkell dwarves. Built deep within the bones of the mountains, this region showcases cavernous subterranean environments, automated forges, and a dark conflict brewing beneath its stone-carved halls. The spotlight then turned to the upcoming addition of new playable races in Phase III: the Niküa, Py’Rai, and updated Dünir. The broadcast revisited their origins and lore, highlighting how culture, environment, and history shape their place in Verra.

Viewers were also treated to a deeper dive into economic and stat system updates, including a comprehensive rework of the crafting loop. The team then previewed the Crate system, an integral piece of how Nodes will develop and grow in the world. From building placement to resource logistics, this mechanic will allow players to meaningfully contribute to the advancement of their chosen settlements.

Finally, the stream showcased major updates coming to Nodes, PvP, and Guild systems. These include Dynamic Lawless POIs that add tension to contested spaces, refinements to node progression, and new tools for guilds to shape their identity and earn unique benefits as they grow. The update concluded with a live Q&A, where the team answered community-submitted questions about upcoming systems, features, and what testers can expect heading into Phase III.
