A timeless tradition among the Ren'Kai, arena combat is a spectacle to behold, with each warrior's skill and heart laid bare for all to see. Being a central aspect of their culture, many attendees watch these pitched battles for entertainment, while others study them in order to better their own styles. Regardless, all Ren'Kai know how to fight at some level - and success in the games is always met with respect, and oftentimes, more challengers.

The Jade Sigil

Accessory Cosmetic Skin *

Few symbols carry such reverence for the Ren'Kai people as this sigil. Worn exclusively by the most skilled warriors, ownership is only relinquished upon defeat in single combat, a ceremony that all yearn to see. To view such a battle is to watch naught but the truest display of martial skill. Though the sigil and all it represents are the goal of many a warrior, the opportunity to face a sigil-bearer and be witness to their singular prowess is often reward enough.

Sootshell

Pet Cosmetic Skin *

Living a humble existence within the luminous viridian caverns of the Ren'Kai homelands, this unassuming creature feeds off of the crystals that dot its habitat. Normally, these crystals are supremely tough, beyond the tooling of the Ren'Kai. The Sootshell's unique biology allows it to dissolve and absorb the substance into its body, creating a viscous but workable reagent that hardens greatly with heat. This substance is highly valuable and versatile - used in art, ceremony, and especially for warfare.

Jaded Drudger

Mount Cosmetic Skin *

Considered by many Ren'Kai to be a rite of passage among aspiring warriors, the taming of a Drudger is no mean feat. Possessing a skeleton and musculature imbued and infused with the eponymous mineral, its reputation as an unstoppable force is well deserved. Their cranial protrusion has demolished countless fearsome fortifications that would have soundly stopped others, only stunning the hardy brute. Letting the beast run headlong into a cliffside has proven a rather popular taming tactic, but no small number of aspirants have been dashed against the wall, their bodies shattered in the process. This test is only for those who can face down certain death with an equally unwavering demeanor.

Carmine Carapace

Costume Cosmetic Skin *

The traditional fighting garb of the Ren'Kai, this armor is tough but segmented to allow for flexibility. With helmets often uniquely ornate and fearsome so as to intimidate their opponents, this frightening visage (along with the Ren'Kai's naturally prodigious size) makes them difficult to face, let alone conquer. Fortunately for their foes, such warriors are not as numerous as other fighting forces, though this fact should all the more serve to engender caution.

Though but one example of the Ren'Kai's naval craftsmanship, the treated ebon and emerald wood slices through the waves like a merciful blade, and the crimson standard towers defiantly above the sea, ensuring that no captain would dare mistake it for any other. Whether loaded for trade or war, this ship is ready to take any blow, and its crew is equally ready to return the favor. Only turmoil lies in store for those who would face it.

It is here that the crowds roar their loudest, that the world seems to still around the combatants. Some bouts are over in moments, but the Ren'Kai relish a prolonged brawl, the weight of determination and focus heavy in the air. While these fights are ferocious and brutal, the Ren'Kai are not so foolish as to kill their own warriors. Rather, the defeated are encouraged to train to new heights and develop a newfound resolve. The victors, though having attained great glory, are never idle for long. These champions are soon once more honing their skills, knowing complacency may well be their downfall.
