On Friday, February 25, 2022, we broadcasted our Ashes of Creation February Development Update live on Twitch with our Creative Director, Steven Sharif, and our Community Marketing Lead, Margaret Krohn. Viewers got to see the Py'Rai for the FIRST time, and the new updated Kaelar female models! The Py'Rai are woodland elves who believe all things come to balance in time, and nature will always have her way. Their connection with nature can be seen visibly in their skin texture, and the large antlers sprouting from their heads - a unique feature to the Py'Rai.
Beyond the reveal of a new race and updated model, we had our Executive Producer, Bryan Langford, join us to talk about why production is important in games, and how he got his start in the industry. As always, our character and environment art teams shared more beautiful creatures, costumes, props, and node concepts for the Py'Rai and Ren'Kai. Plus, we discussed what our design and engineering teams have been working on with a deeper dive into the animal husbandry system.
